Neurological surgery is a discipline of medicine and that specialty of surgery which deals with the diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of disorders of the central, peripheral and autonomic nervous systems, including their supporting structures and vascular supply; and the evaluation and treatment of pathological processes which modify function or activity of the nervous system, including the hypophysis. Neurological surgery includes the operative and non-operative management, diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, critical care and rehabilitation of patients with disorders of the nervous system.
